INDIA-MAURITIUS BILATERAL RELATIONS
Credit Lines Extended to Mauritius :
- The Government of India has extended several lines of credit at concessional rates to the Government of Mauritius. These credit lines have been used to assist the Government of Mauritius in its projects for infrastructure development, human resource skills development, project appraisal, etc. Part of the credit line extended in 2001 was used for the construction of the cyber-tower at Ebene and the Swami Vivekananda International Conference Centre. During the State Visit of Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam to India in October 2005, a credit line of US $ 100 million (including a grant component of 25%) was offered to Mauritius by India. The list of projects to be financed under the LOC was finalised during the tenth India-Mauritius Joint Commission meeting. Supply of ALH Dhruv, Coastal Surveillance Radar System (CSRS) and Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) has been through this credit line/grant.
