HINDI ESSAY WRITING AND ELOCUTION COMPETITION
BY HIGH COMMISSION OF INDIA, PORT LOUIS
To commemorate Hindi Diwas, the High Commission of India is organising (i) Hindi Essay Writing Competition and (ii) Hindi Elocution Competition for the Mauritian nationals in Mauritius. The competition is open to following three levels of participants:

Hindi Essay Writing Competition Essay should be written in Hindi language choosing one of the topics given below:

Hindi Elocution Competition Each participant will be given 6 minutes to show his/her skills before a panel of judges. Participant may choose one of the topics given below: |
Category 'A' –Primary School students up to Std. 6 |
(i) Bharat-Mauritius Maitri (India-Mauritius Friendship), Word limit: 250 for Category 'A’ and 500 for Category ‘B’ |
(i)Rashtrapita Chacha Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (Father of the Nation Chacha Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam), |
Category 'B'- Secondary School students of Form I to VI |

Category 'C' – Tertiary Students and all other interested Mauritian nationals |
(i) Mauritius mein Hindi (Hindi in Mauritius), Word limit: 600 to 1000 |

Terms and Conditions: |
Essays should be original and unpublished one and should be neatly hand-written or typed on A-4 size paper. Name, address and contact details including mobile no, e-mail ID etc should be mentioned at the bottom of the last page of essay. The essays will be evaluated by judges, who will choose the winning entry. Essays should reach not later than 14 September, 2010. |
Entries should reach latest by 14 September 2010. First Round of Competition will be held on 15 September 2010. from 10:30 AM onwards at Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture (IGCIC), Phoenix. |
Essays and elocution entries should be addressed to: Second Secretary (E&L), High Commission of India, LIC Building, 6th Floor, President John Kennedy Street, P.O.Box 162, Port Louis, Mauritius. Essays or elocution competition should be clearly mentioned on the envelope.

Acceptance or rejection of entries is the sole prerogative of the organising committee. No correspondence or claim whatsoever will be entertained in this regard.
Attractive prizes (1st, 2nd & 3rd) will be awarded in each category. Consolation prizes will also be given in each category.
